PUBLICATION ETHICS

The editorial board, the editorial staff and «TUMA GROUP", Ltd. (as the publisher of the scientific and technological journal "Oil and Gas Technologies") adhere to the principles of publishing (editorial) ethics. Compliance with these principles - one of the main components of the peer review process and the publication of scientific and technological journal "Oil and Gas Technologies".


Responsibilities of the editor in chief

Decision on publishing an article
The editor in chief of the "Oil and Gas Technology" is responsible for deciding which of the submitted manuscripts will be published.
Before the adoption of this decision, the manuscript is always being reviewed for accuracy and relevance, significance for researchers and readers. The editor in chief can be guided by the methodological guidance, developed by the editorial board of the journal, as well as legal norms (avoiding of libel, infringement of copyright, plagiarism). In deciding whether to publish the material the editor in chief may consult with the members of the editorial board and the reviewers (or the scientific and teaching staff).

Correctness
The editor in chief of the journal "Oil and Gas Technology" evaluates the intellectual content of the manuscripts, submitted for publication, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, confession, citizenship or political opinions of the authors.

Privacy
The editor in chief of the journal "Oil and Gas Technology" and the editorial board members do not have to disclose information about manuscripts, submitted for publication to anyone, except the author, the reviewers, the editorial board advisors, and the publisher.

Disclosure of information and conflicts of interest
When creating your own works of the editor in chief and the editorial board members can not use the information, contained in the submitted manuscript, without the written permission of the author. Confidential information or ideas, obtained in the review process, must be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain.
The editor in chief should refuse to participate in the review of the manuscript in a conflict of interest, arising from competition, co-operation with any of the authors of the manuscript, as well as with organizations, relevant to the manuscript.

Analysis of ethical complaints
In case of ethical complaints on content of submitted manuscripts or published articles the editor in chief of the journal "Oil and Gas Technology" takes steps to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Responsibilities of reviewers

Participation in decision-making process at the editorial board
Reviewing helps the editor in chief to make decisions about the publication of manuscripts, and the interaction of the authors with the editorial board can help them improve their articles.

Efficiency
If the elected reviewer is aware of its incompetence in specific scientific research, described in the manuscript, or realizes, that he isn't able to carry out its peer review promptly, he must notify the editor and remove himself from the review process.

Privacy
Each submitted manuscript is considered as a confidential document. Only the persons, who were authorized by the editor in chief, can know about its content.

Standards of neutrality
Reviews are carried out objectively. Personal attacks are not allowed. The reviewer gives clear and precise reasons for his opinion.

Acknowledgment of the sources
If the authors have not provided the reference to any of the published articles, the reviewer should mention it. Any statement claiming, that any data or output argument have already been published in scientific journals, must be provided with a reference. In case of substantial similarity or overlap of the manuscript to any other article, the reviewer should draw the attention of the editor in chief.

Disclosure of information and conflicts of interest
Unpublished information in the manuscript, that is disclosed in the reviewed article, should not be used in reviewer's  publications without the written permission of the author. Confidential information or ideas, obtained in the review process, must be kept secret and can not be used by a reviewer for his personal gain.
The reviewer should withdraw from participation in the review of the manuscript in case of conflict of interest, arising from competition, co-operation with any of the authors of the manuscript, as well as with organizations relevant to the manuscript.

Responsibilities of an author

Originality and plagiarism
The authors  have to ensure, that their manuscripts are original. If they create a manuscript of others, it must be labeled as a reference or referred to in the text.
Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable in manuscripts, submitted for publication.
Submission of the same manuscript for publication in more than one journal is unethical and unacceptable.
An author should not submit an article for publication, if it's already published in another journal.

Authorship of an article
Authorship should be limited to those persons, who have made significant contributions into the conception, planning, execution, or interpretation of the studies.
Everyone, who has made a significant contribution to the manuscript, should be listed as co-authors. If someone is involved in a substantial part of the project, he/she should be commended, or he/she must be included in the list of co-authors.

Disclosure of information and conflicts of interest
Authors should disclose any financial or other material conflicts of interest, that might be construed as influencing on the results of the evaluation of these manuscripts. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Errors in published articles
If the author discovers a serious error or inaccuracy in the published article, he/she should immediately contact the editor in chief and collaborate with him/her to publish a disclaimer or a correction. If the editor in chief receives the information about a serious error in a published article from a third party, the author should timely publish a disclaimer or correction, or provide the proof of correctness for the published article.

Revealing the plagiarism
The editorial board, the editorial staff and «TUMA GROUP", Ltd. (as the publisher of the scientific and technological journal "Oil and Gas Technologies") undertake an obligation to help the scientific community to observe and practice publishing ethics, especially in cases of possible double submission or plagiarism.
